Pay Per Click-Drive Traffic To Your Site
The definition of pay per click is: An effective type of sponsored online advertising that is used on a wide range of websites, including search engines, where the advertiser only pays if a web user clicks on their ad.

Pay per click is used as one more way to drive traffic to your site. If you have the budget for it, it makes sense to use it to it's full advantage. Sometimes it can be very cost effective depending on the keywords you choose.

That's really how it works. You choose keywords you think searchers will type in the search bar on the search engines, then you write an ad around that keyword.

When someone does type in that specific keyword, they will see your ad pop up on the left or right hand side of the results page (depending on the search engine they are using) and then it is up to them if they choose to click on it. If they do, you pay the amount set forth for that keyword.

When you set this all up you will need to fund your account in advance. Sometimes, if you are new to this, you can get some free money from the program you are using just to try it out.

This money will not go far and you may also have to put some of your own money in to activate your free cash.

PPC ads can prove very beneficial to all involved. You, as the advertiser, get the exposure you need to expand your business and the searcher gets immediate results and does not have to wander all over the Internet trying to find what they are looking for.

You can find these types of ads on the results pages under "Sponsored Ads" or "Sponsored Links". These "titles" make it easier for them to be noticed.

Sometimes the results pages can be so loaded down with text and other things that if they were not categorized like this they may never be found.

It does not matter if you are a huge company with deep pockets or a small start-up with an equally small budget. If you do this right you can be on the same level as the big boys and get to your target audience with ease.

All you have to do is choose the right keywords and have the budget to fund your account, not to mention be quite Internet literate. If you know what you are doing you can outfox anyone.

The rates that get charged all have to do with how popular the keywords, or keyword phrases (long-tailed keywords) are that you chose to begin with. More popular the keyword the higher the price tag.

For instance, the keyword "weight loss" will cost more per click than, say, the keyword "apple pie".

The two main pay per click services are Google AdWords and Microsoft adCenter. There are many others out there but instead of looking for some obscure program that may or may not work for you, it would be your best bet to just use one of these two.
